Rendang Beef ala Minang

(Rendang beef recipe ala Minang)
Bahan-bahan:
(Ingredients)


Daging Sapi 1 kg
(beef)
Cabe Merah ¼ kg
(red chilies)
Jahe 50 gr
(Ginger)
Lengkuas 50 gr
(Lengkuas sort of Ginger with different aroma)
Kayu manis 1 ruas jari
(cinnamon)
Bawang merah 15 biji
(Onions)
Bawang putih 10 biji
(Garlic)
Adas ½ sendok teh
Kapulaga 1 biji
Ketumbar 1 sendok makan
(the three ingredients above can be found at Asian supermarket. The shapes are king of seed with hard shell)
Kelapa 5 buah
(Coconut)
Kentang kecil ¼ kg
(small potatoes)
Daun kunyit 1 buah
Daun serai 1 buah
Daun jeruk 3 buah
Daun salam 1 buah
(the four ingredients above are kind of leaves and you can find at Asian supermarket)

Daging di potong-potong kecil dan jangan di cuci, kentang di cuci dan ditusuk-tusuk oleh lidi. Kelapa diparut dan diperas satu kali saja, lalu di ambil santannya. Lengkuas dan jahe ditumbuk halus dan dijadikan 1 bagian. Bawang merah dan bawang putih ditumbuk halus dan dijadikan 1 bagian. Ketumbar dan adas ditumbuk halus dan dijadikan satu bagian. Cabe ditumbuk halus dan dijadikan 1 bagian. Kayu manis dan kapulaga tidak ditumbuk.



The translation:
Cut the beef into cubes and do not rinse with water, wash the potatoes and make holes in the middle. Do not peel them off. Grater the coconut and take the milk of it only once. Ginger and lengkuas should be blended well and make them into one portion. Crash the onions and garlic and make them into one portion. Crash also the ketumbar and adas and make them into one portion. Blend the chilies into one portion. Add one small finger of Kapulaga and cinnamon .

Cara memasak:
(How to cook)

Santan dimasak sampai mendidih, lalu masukkan daun kunyit, serai, salam dan daun jeruk. Setelah itu, masukkan cabe halus, lengkuas dan jahe halus, bawang merah dan bawang putih halus, ketumbar dan adas halus dan masukkan kayu manis beserta kapulaga. Adonan terus diaduk dan kemudian masukkan daging dan kentang ke adonan tersebut. Masak dengan api sedang. Masakan diaduk dan di bolak balik beberapa kali sampai santan berubah menjadi minyak. Jangan lupa tambahkan garam secukupnya ke masakan. Masakan akan benar-benar matang setelah seluruh adonan menjadi kering dan berwarna coklat. SELAMAT MENCOBA.

The translation
Cook the coconut milk until boils, then add the leaves of kunyit, serai, salam and jeruk.
